Davidsonia Gin is coming! Release Date and pre-launch events announced!

Animus distillery is thrilled to introduce our newest gin release, Davidsonia Gin!

To celebrate this momentous occasion, we have scheduled a select number of pre-release events, prior to our formal launch on September 1st

Davidsonia Gin utilises our Macedon Dry Gin recipe as the base, with a few tweaks to highlight the unique character of Australian Native Davidsonia plums.

For our first batch, we have steeped whole Davidsonia plums in our overproofed Macedon Dry Gin for almost 18 months, in order to ensure we extracted the maximum flavour, character, depth and complexity from this incredible and unique Australian fruit.

The Australian Native Davidsonia plum is native to the sub-tropical rainforests of Eastern Australia, and has a distinctive tart character landing somewhere between raspberry, red plum and a hint of feijoa. The tart acid structure and distinctive aromatics of the Davidsonia plum are complemented beautifully by the lifted citrus, resinous juniper characters and complex spice of our Macedon Dry Gin. Our Davidsonia Gin is also balanced with a hint of Australian sugar to bring together all the strong personalities involved into perfect harmony and balance.

Davidsonia gin is delicious neat as a sipping gin on ice or with a squeeze of lime, or beautifully refreshing with fresh lime and soda, or in a range of innovative cocktails such as our Davidsonia gin sour or our Davidsonia gin fizz.

The Animus team invite gin-lovers to join us at one of our events, to be amongst the first to try this uniquely Australian spirit.

Bad Frankie
141 Greeves St, Fitzroy. 
Thursday 9th August. Two of the founders of Animus Distillery, Aaron Robinson and Joel Wilson, will be hosting a tasting of our full gin range, including our newest Davidsonia Gin. This event will be at Bad Frankie bar between 6pm and 8pm on Thursday 9th August. 

Black Pearl
304 Brunswick Street, Fitzroy. 
Friday 17th - Sunday 19th August. 
The Attic at Black Pearl will be showcasing Davidsonia Gin over the whole weekend from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th August. The Black Pearl team will no doubt be exercising their unique creative magic with this newest Animus release.

Gin Palace
10 Russell Place, Melbourne.
Tuesday 21st August. 
On Tuesday 21st August, Gin Palace will be hosting an invite-only Trade event. Co-founder, MD and Chief Distiller, Rob Turner, will lead the discussions talking through the core range of gins, and of course the newest Davidsonia Gin. Sunday 26th August.
On Sunday August 26th, two of the founders, Luke Jacques and Rob Turner will be hosting an Animus masterclass, exploring the full range of Animus Gins, including the Davidsonia Gin. There will also be a live DJ, food and great drinks from 2pm until late. Bookings are essential direct with BowerBird.

From 1st September, Davidsonia gin will be available from select retailers, our online store at https://animusdistillery.com/shop/ and direct from their distillery / cocktail lounge at 1/89A Piper Street, Kyneton.
