Gin Palace "Scents of Place" event with Animus Distillery

Gin Palace has been an institution on the Melbourne Bar scene for over a decade, and their expert crew have been some of the earliest supporters of Animus Gin. With a sophisticated and stylish venue, a lovingly curated selection of some of the world’s best gins, and a team of warm and  friendly staff expert in their craft, Gin Palace is one of the best bars in the Melbourne CBD to enjoy a cocktail or two.
"Scents of Place" is a series of Winter lunches hosted by Gin Palace, designed to showcase Australian distilleries and some of the fantastic culinary talent from our region.

On Saturday 30th June, Animus Distillery had the opportunity to host a “Scents of Place” event at Gin Palace, partnered with executive chef Q1 from Kyneton Old Rectory, one of Kyneton’s premier accommodation and food experience destinations.

This exclusive ticketed event ran over several hours and included a gin tasting guided by two of our Directors, Aaron and Luke, along with Animus Distillery cocktails prepared by the Gin Palace team and paired with a fabulous three-course meal from Q1:

Entree:
Seafood mandu in prawn and pea bisque, coriander-coconut cream

Main:
Soy-miso braised sticky pork, daikon kimchi, witlof, rice

Dessert:
Citrus posset, strawberry sorbet, strawberry cocktail

Gin Palace was a fantastic venue for this delicious meal, and was especially transformed for the occasion. Dinner tables were set with decorations in stylish purple and white, along with mood lighting to create the perfect atmosphere for this exciting event.

With multiple gin distilleries popping up around the country, the "Scents of Place” events have introduced gin lovers to some of Australia’s best premium handcrafted gin, along with some creative and exciting food pairing concepts. The Animus Distillery team were thrilled to be able to participate in this event, and discuss with guests on the day the passion and process behind how we create our award-winning gin expressions.

With appetites satisfied and our senses indulged, guests were also presented a parting gift before leaving; an Animus Distillery gift bag with essential information for those visiting our cellar door / cocktail lounge in Kyneton, select information from our valuable business partners and mini sample bottles of our gin and our favourite tonic from StrangeLove.

With the final "Scents of Place" event on this weekend, tickets are still available at www.scentsofplace.com.au.
